CGS is looking for an Interior Architect/ Technical Designer.

You are comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small business with an entrepreneurial culture.  You have strong design and technical skills and are looking to apply your knowledge to collaborate to create award-winning interior spaces. You are highly organized, and have curiosity, drive, and an eagerness to learn.

In an Interior Architect/ Technical Designer, you will:

·         Along with design leader, co-lead projects from start to finish, including two- and three-dimensional design, document production, and construction administration. Interact with MEPFP engineers and other consultants and vendors to coordinate full drawing set and all details, leading to successful project completion.

·         Lead specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions related to code compliance, detailing, and material selection and application.

·         Provide professional consultation on code-compliance, planning, design, detailing, and coordination on an as-needed basis.

·         Lead, produce, and coordinate construction documents for architectural interiors projects, on an as-needed basis.

·         Interact with Architect of Record, permit expediters, and any jurisdictions to ensure efficient permitting processes.

·         Take an active role in design presentations and charettes.

·         Attend site visits and oversee construction.

·         Be a technical resource to all staff.

·         Participate in business development pursuits.

·         Attend industry events.

·         Assist with other special projects, as needed and assigned.

 

Job Specifications:

 

·         Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture from an accredited program.

·         3-5 years of relevant experience.

·         While not required, professional licensure is highly encouraged.

·         Expert knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD LT, Bluebeam, OneNote, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), Enscape, and Adobe InDesign.

·         Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, and strong knowledge of building construction technology.

·         Strong knowledge of the process of design, from overall planning to interior architectural detailing.

·         Strong knowledge of construction documentation and architectural conventions related to commercial interior design.

·         Strong knowledge of construction administration.

·         Strong written and oral communication skills.

·         Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative.

·         Ability to work 40 hours per week, during normal business hours. Some work in excess of 40 hours per week may be required, as deadlines dictate.

·         Ability to take direction.

·         Ability to handle ambiguity.

Work Environment:

Typical indoor open office environment. The office is currently used at moderate capacity. While we do offer flexible working arrangements, this is not a remote position. We encourage all employees to be present in the office four days per week.
