Role: Project Architect/ Technical Designer
Who We Are
Charlie Greene Studio is a close-knit team of design professionals who specialize in creating and delivering thoughtful, compelling commercial interiors. We know that design is transformative and see each project as an opportunity to solve multi-layered problems that impact work processes, team performance, and the realities of business – while also engaging people in meaningful experiences that build lasting emotional connections. We continually move between larger design strategies to the distinct details of a project, from the forest to the trees and back again.
Who You Are
You are a technically accomplished designer who enjoys the challenge of translating thoughtful design concepts into well-coordinated, carefully detailed, and buildable interior environments. You have substantial experience with corporate workplace interiors and a thorough understanding of the technical requirements of working within existing buildings.
You are an expert Revit user with strong knowledge of construction documentation, Chicago building codes, and construction administration. You understand how buildings go together, anticipate technical challenges, and take pride in producing accurate, comprehensive drawing sets.
You are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with designers, project leaders, consultants, and contractors. You are organized, resourceful, detail-oriented, and confident in your technical judgment. You enjoy solving problems and contributing your expertise to a small, entrepreneurial studio where everyone plays an important role in delivering exceptional work.
What You'll Do
Working collaboratively with project leaders and designers, you will be responsible for the technical development, documentation, and coordination of corporate workplace interiors projects.

Develop architectural details, plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and specifications appropriate to the scope and complexity of each project.
Apply Chicago building codes, accessibility requirements, life-safety regulations, and other applicable standards throughout design development and documentation.
Coordinate architectural documentation with MEPFP engineers, specialty consultants, furniture dealers, vendors, and other project participants.
Identify and resolve technical conflicts, coordination issues, and constructability challenges throughout the documentation process.
Prepare and coordinate drawings and supporting documentation for permit submissions and respond to technical review comments.
Participate actively in construction administration, including site visits, shop drawing and submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and resolution of field conditions.
Collaborate with project designers to evaluate materials, assemblies, and construction methods.
Participate in design reviews, presentations, and charrettes, contributing technical insight and practical problem-solving.
Assist with other studio initiatives and special projects as needed.
